Crossing Borders is a language and cultural education company committed to quality learning experiences and materials. Crossing Borders has been providing language services in the North Houston area for the past 8 years and for the first time offering classes in San Antonio, TX. During which time CB has gained the reputation as a leader in language and cultural education.

Our Founder, Owner and Executive Director

Elvia Taylor founded our company in 2001. Elvia initially started the company to teach English and Spanish; however, she soon realized that people’s need for linguistic and cultural education extended far beyond basic studies. Through her vision and passion for language Elvia has expanded Crossing Borders to include classes for children and adults in a wide variety of settings and languages. It is this passion that drives CB as we expand in the effort to make quality linguistic and cultural education accessible to everyone.

Partnering with River Oaks Academy

River Oaks Academy (ROA) unprecedented approach to education offers Houston area children an opportunity to participate in our multinational future.  Crossing Borders Group (CBG)and River Oaks share a common goal:  prepare your children for the future through a unique immersion style language and academic education  program.  When CBG and ROA first joined forces there were no doubts that together they could build a school like none other in Houston.  Both directors share a common vision of the future and the educational needs of our children to succeed in this multicultural metropolis. 

Together ROA and CBG have 32 years of experience providing educational services to Houston and surrounding areas.  Together they have the expertise and experience to make ROA an International School, a world-class education center.  ROA offers a one of a kind independent private school with full Spanish Immersion program for toddlers and Pre-K, traditional toddler and Pre-K program in English, dual-language immersion, English (ESL) transitional, and a preparatory curriculum all under one roof.
